If your life is anything like mine during this quarantine, it’s a shit show. I’m staying up way past my bedtime, binge watching everything Netflix has to offer and regretting it in the morning when these damn kids wake up at the crack of dawn asking for a snack. Can you believe Cam woke me up at 7 am and asked me for some damn fruit snacks?!

This past Friday, I implemented Wacky Tacky Friday’s in my house, majority of that inspiration was me having a reason to change my kids out of their pjs, boom, successful. 

I get a lot of questions asking how I’m maintaining and aside from the chaos of everyone being home all the damn time, these things below are keeping me sane. 

1. Daily Aspiration; find something that motivates you to be productive and in good spirits. Write it down, sticky note it on your bathroom mirror, google it if you can’t think of your own. Start the day by saying it.

Here’s mine: 

“I control the DAY, I will not let these kids walk all over me and do whatever they want, I got this” - Ebony M. Beckles 

What it does for me? Reassures my control. I say it throughout the day as needed. 

2. Go to Bali! J/k! Get in the shower or bathtub, whatever you prefer. In my house I refer to my shower as “Bali”. They know not to bother me when I’m in there. I’m pretty sure that’s the only time I’m off duty. I’m in there singing in a teeny bikini on the beach drinking a strawberry margarita with a sugared rim. DO NOT DISTURB ME, I’m dreaming.

What it does for me? Besides the obvious hygiene purposes, that’s where I clear my mind, boost my energy and relieve stress.

3. Get cute!

When you look good you feel good. This is the time to pull out all the cozy wear, this is the time to go through baes closet and steal his shit, his sweats and tour tees. Brush your hair up in a bun (my go to until outside opens back up) and make your overly grown brows presentable. Find the best lightening in your house and take selfies, make videos, Tiki's Tok, Thriller, etc. 

What it does for me? The getting cute part reminds me that I’m not a hot mess mom.

4. Do whatever the hell you want! 

Read, journal, binge watch TV, nap, drink 3 cups of coffee or 3 glasses of wine, create, find a hobby or not lol, meditate, exercise, bake, ignore phone calls, reconcile friendships, cut people off and the list of things to do at home literally goes on and on. Just do what makes you happy. 

What it does for me? Makes me happy.

I brought some plants that made me surprisingly very happy today. I named them “Rona” and “Tine” for obvious inspiration purposes.

5. STAY HOME, my friends. Practice social distancing, stop touching your face so much and wash your damn hands.

What it does for me? Prayerfully keeps me and my family Coronavirus free :)
